The University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) proudly celebrated Administrative Professionals Day 2025 with a vibrant and empowering workshop themed “The Power of Adaptability: Thriving in a Dynamic Administrative Landscape.” Held on April 23, the event was a resounding success, bringing together the university’s administrative professionals for a day of spiritual connection, professional enrichment, and heartfelt celebration.

The workshop opened with a soul-stirring devotional by Chaplain Rachel Sealy, who anchored the day in faith and purpose, drawing spiritual connections to the theme of adaptability. Her message set a reflective and inspiring tone for what followed.
USC President, Dr. Colwick Wilson, delivered a warm presidential welcome, expressing gratitude for the vital role administrative professionals play in advancing the mission and vision of the university. He encouraged attendees to continue embracing change with courage, competence, and compassion.
Mrs. Marsha Ramsamoojh-Harris, Director of Human Resources, presented an engaging Development Segment under the sub-theme “Excellence in Administrative Services.” Her session challenged participants to uphold high standards in service delivery, while also adapting to emerging trends and tools in administration.
The highlight of the day was the dynamic keynote address by Mr. Tony Ragoonanan, whose presentation captivated the audience with energy, insight, and practical strategies. Mr. Ragoonanan equipped participants with applicable tools and techniques addressing functional, operational, and methodological approaches to personal and professional development. His powerful delivery reinforced the theme of adaptability, leaving attendees inspired and ready to thrive in today’s dynamic administrative landscape.

Participants were empowered with actionable insights into adaptability, personal growth, and professional resilience. Mr. Ragoonanan emphasized the importance of mindset shifts, effective communication, and continuous learning—core competencies that are essential for thriving in modern administrative roles.
A special moment of recognition honored two longstanding members of the administrative team:
- Mrs. Camilla Baldeo for an incredible 33 years of dedicated service, and
- Mrs. Rowena Moore-Mc Nichol, recognized for 30 years of service and also celebrated her birthday on the day of the event.

The workshop marked a significant step in USC’s ongoing commitment to the development of its administrative staff through forums such as this, and will continue to invest in cultivating a culture of excellence, adaptability, and professional growth among its team members.
The celebration concluded on a high note with a celebratory toast to all administrative professionals, followed by an exhilarating Sip and Paint session hosted by Art by Akilah. This creative experience provided a relaxing and joyful close to the day, beautifully reinforcing the workshop’s themes through art and connection.
The feedback from attendees reflected 100% engagement, with many praising the event for its relevance, inspiration, and enjoyment. The university extends its heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this occasion a meaningful success.
