USC’s Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the Scholarship Application period for Semester II of the academic year 2023/2024 will be from Wednesday, February 21, 2024 to Sunday, March 17, 2024.

Named Scholarships - Semester II, 2023/2024

The University of the Southern Caribbean Alumni Association, North America (USCAANA)

The University of the Southern Caribbean Alumni Association, North America (USCAANA) Scholarships are awarded competitively among sophomore, juniors and seniors students of the University of the Southern Caribbean based on the applicant’s academic achievements, financial need, and high determination for achievement of goals. This scholarship awards USD$1,000.00.

Scholarship criteria is as follows:

  • A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • There must be a demonstrated need
  • Applicants must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits in the semester the scholarship is being awarded
  • Students must be of good character and maintain good citizenship
  • Demonstrate leadership ability, and engage in campus ministries activities

The North American Alumni - Southern California Chapter Occupational Therapy Scholarship

The North American Alumni - Southern California Chapter Occupational Therapy Scholarship- The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) scholarship fund is established to provide scholarships for the occupational therapy students at the University of the Southern Caribbean. This semester students have the opportunity to benefit from a fund of $5,000USD. Scholarships would be awarded based on merit and need.

Scholarship criteria is as follows:

  • Completed a minimum of 2 semesters in the USC Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program.
  • Good academic standing (above G.P.A 3.0).
  • Active TTOTA member.
  • Demonstrated leadership within the program.
  • Documented community service.

The Ingrid Tom-Phillips Scholarship

The Ingrid Denise Tom-Phillips Scholarship will aid in the education of female students who are majoring in a concentration from the School of Business Administration at the University of the Southern Caribbean, Maracas Valley , Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. the Tom-Phillips Scholarship will be offered once per academic year to assist one (1) deserving female student with origins in the Republics of Trinidad and Tobago or Barbados.

Scholarship criteria is as follows:

  • Must be enrolled in their sophomore  (or greater) year of study at USC
  • Must be enrolled in the University's School of Business Administration
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits during the semester they will apply scholarship funds
  • Must be a female student with origins in Trinidad and Tobago or Barbados
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25

The Samuel & Pauline Dey Scholarship

The Samuel and Pauline Dey Scholarship will be offered once per academic year, and is available to students who are academic qualified, show financial need, portray strong Christian values and high determination for achievement of goals and are enrolled as a student at USC.

Scholarship criteria is as follows:

  • A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Applicants must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits in the semester the scholarship is being awarded
  • Must be matriculating in one of the four programs: BS Nursing (4-yr program), BEd Primary Education, BS Accounting, AS Premedical Studies
  • Dedicated Christian
  • Conscientious, dependable, diligent and determined
  • Show financial need
  • Goal Oriented
  • Must be enrolled in the USC’s work/study program
 

The North American Alumni - Southern California Chapter Music Scholarship

The North American Alumni - Southern California Chapter Music Scholarship fund is established to provide scholarships for any undergraduate music student at the University of the Southern Caribbean. This semester all undergraduate music students have the opportunity to benefit from a fund of $5,000USD.  Scholarships would be awarded based on merit and need.
 

Scholarship criteria is as follows:

  • Must be a registered student
  • Good academic standing (above G.P.A 3.0)
  • Demonstrated leadership within the program
  • Documented community service

 

Requirements of Maintaining Scholarship Eligibility:

  • Maintain minimum class attendance as stipulated in the USC Student Handbook
  • Maintain full-time enrollment for the academic year (extenuating circumstances to be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Uphold academic integrity as defined in the USC Student Handbook
  • Complete payments of the previous semester’s balance prior to extension of the scholarship for the subsequent semester
