On April 8, 2026, the ASB Constitutional Committee presented its amendments to the Constitution, highlighting a period of intentional growth, impactful reform, and strengthened student engagement. The success of the Constitutional Committee is rooted in the dedication of its diverse team. Led by Parliamentarian Shayniah Thomas and supported by Vice Chair Ayandi Delpeche, the committee also comprised Abigail Francis (Secretary), Dwayne Headley (Constitutional Designer), Azariah Thomas (Social Media Project Manager), Dayna-Marie Nichols (Policy Analyst), Juhmaul Belfon (Historian), Nkosi Cato (Compliance Officer), Marica Hector (Outreach and Engagement Officer), and Seth Isidore (Liaison Officer), with sponsorship support from Mr. Dominic Merritt and Mr. David Barker. Through a series of strategic initiatives, the committee demonstrated its commitment to ensuring that the ASB Constitution remains relevant, clear, and reflective of the needs of the student body.
At the core of the committee’s work this year was a commitment to meaningful progress. The team placed significant emphasis on reviewing and revising the Constitution, carefully examining each section to identify areas requiring clarity and modernization.
This process was both thorough and collaborative. Committee members engaged in detailed discussions, balancing diverse perspectives while considering how each proposed amendment would impact the wider student body. Despite the challenges, the successful completion of these amendments stands as one of the committee’s most significant accomplishments.
As part of its year end recap, the committee highlighted a couple key accomplishments that defined its work over the past academic year. Both of these accomplishments were the successful hosting of a Leadership Workshop on September 10, 2025, which served as a valuable platform for student leaders to develop critical skills and deepen their understanding of governance.

The workshop featured student-led presentations on parliamentary procedure, constitutional development, and leadership communication, underscoring the committee’s commitment to peer-led learning and capacity building. This initiative not only strengthened collaboration among campus organizations but also equipped participants with practical tools to lead effectively within their respective roles.
In addition, the committee identified a need to increase student awareness of its purpose and impact. To address this, deliberate efforts were made to enhance its social media presence through consistent, engaging, and informative content. This approach went beyond visibility, aiming to make the Constitution more accessible and relevant to the wider student body.
Together, these initiatives represent significant milestones in the committee’s efforts to build stronger connections, promote transparency, and foster a more informed and engaged campus community.
The committee presented a comprehensive set of proposed amendments aimed at improving clarity, accessibility, and functionality within the ASB Constitution. These revisions, developed over several months and refined through multiple stages of review, address several critical areas:

As the year concludes, the ASB Constitutional Committee reflects on its achievements with pride. From policy reform to leadership development and enhanced student engagement, the committee has laid a strong foundation for future growth.
With a clear vision and a commitment to excellence, the work continues, empowering future leaders and strengthening the voice of the student body.
