When the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) convened its year-end Board of Trustees meeting in November 2025, the institution chose to move part of the conversation out of the boardroom and onto the campus itself.

Instead of receiving updates solely through reports and presentations, trustees participated in a guided tour that allowed them to view several of the university’s ongoing developments firsthand. The initiative provided board members with a tangible look at projects shaping USC’s physical infrastructure and long-term strategic growth as the institution moves toward its centennial in 2027.
The tour began on the university estate, where trustees observed progress on the construction of a new estate bridge and the development of a farm road providing improved access to USC’s agricultural lands. The improvements form part of a broader effort to strengthen the university’s agricultural operations while enhancing connectivity within the campus estate.

Board members also took part in USC’s Centennial Tree Planting Initiative, one of several activities marking the institution’s “Journey to 100.” Each trustee was assigned a tree and invited to plant it personally, contributing to a living symbol of the university’s continued growth and its approach to the centennial milestone.
The visit concluded at the USC Auditorium, where trustees viewed a series of recent upgrades to the facility’s audiovisual infrastructure. Among the most notable additions were newly installed LED display screens designed to enhance presentations, performances, and large-scale university events hosted in the venue.
The upgrades are expected to strengthen the auditorium’s role as one of USC’s central gathering spaces, supporting academic conferences, ceremonial events, and public programming.
For many trustees, the campus tour provided a valuable perspective, linking strategic decisions made in the boardroom with the physical spaces and initiatives taking shape across the university as USC advances toward its 100th anniversary.
