Business Entrepreneurship Day, held on Wednesday 26th November, 2025 at the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, once again transformed the campus into a vibrant marketplace of creativity, collaboration, and student enterprise. With an estimated 150 to 200 attendees and 21 booths, the event offered a dynamic space where ideas were tested, products were launched, and meaningful connections were made.
The event officially got underway around midday, with energy and engagement steadily building throughout the afternoon. By approximately 2:30pm, the area reached its peak, filled with students, faculty, staff, and community members exploring booths, sharing recommendations, and encouraging one another to try the latest discoveries. Conversations flowed easily as friends pulled friends toward unique offerings, and the later visit of the University President further highlighted the importance of the event within campus life.
This semester’s event held particular significance for students from the South Campus, many of whom hosted their businesses on the Main Campus for the first time. The larger venue and expanded audience created valuable opportunities for increased exposure, direct customer engagement, and real-time feedback that extended learning beyond the classroom.
The variety of businesses on display highlighted the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the student body. Attendees moved through booths featuring handmade crochet trinkets, custom-made clothing, gourmet cakes, promotional water bottles, dairy-free and vegan ice cream, homemade sweet treats, and lifestyle accessories. Innovation was clearly on display, especially at the specialty snow cone booth operated by Ishana from the South Campus. Her offerings stood out for both creativity and presentation. Larger than traditional snow cones, some were served inside hollowed pineapples and topped with condensed milk, cherries, coconut, pineapple, and vibrant syrups. The bold colors, rich flavors, and unique presentation made her booth an instant favorite and a frequent point of conversation as attendees returned with friends to share the experience.

For many student entrepreneurs, the day was both affirming and instructive. Participants emphasized the value of engaging directly with customers and receiving honest feedback. Hannah Walcott, owner of PoisedbyHan Fashion, shared that Entrepreneurship Day allowed her to test new product ideas and better understand her audience. Interactions with patrons helped her identify which products resonated most, while conversations with members of the wider community offered valuable professional insight. Drawing on lessons learned from previous participation, Hannah plans to return with a more refined product line, stronger branding, and improved promotional strategies.
Jayden Payne similarly described the experience as rewarding and motivating. After first participating as part of a group, this semester marked another step forward in building confidence as a student entrepreneur. He reported strong engagement at his booth and genuine interest from attendees, which reinforced his desire to continue developing his business. Looking ahead, he plans to expand his offerings, enhance his branding, and create a more interactive and visually engaging booth for future events.

Israel Ramdawar reflected on Entrepreneurship Day as a valuable learning experience that extended beyond sales. He noted that interacting with different types of people helped him better understand the realities of running a business. Observing how fellow entrepreneurs reimagined everyday consumer items also left a lasting impression, reinforcing for him how limitless creativity can be when paired with the right guidance and support.

Beyond the individual booths, Entrepreneurship Day fostered a strong sense of community. Patrons were not merely customers but active participants, exchanging ideas, recommending products, and supporting student ventures. The event served as a meaningful way to close the semester, blending entrepreneurship, creativity, and campus connection into a shared experience.
As organizers look to the future, plans are underway to expand vendor capacity, strengthen collaboration between Main and South Campus students, and increase the participation of third-party small businesses. With continued innovation and thoughtful planning, Entrepreneurship Day is set to remain a major highlight of campus life.
In just over two years, Entrepreneurship Day has established itself as a powerful platform for experiential learning. By empowering students to test ideas, learn from real-world feedback, and grow in confidence, the event continues to ensure that the business ideas of today have the potential to become the successful ventures of tomorrow.
Entrepreneurship Day was first launched in 2023 through the vision of Mrs. Stacey Simmons-Roberts, Chair of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship. The event was designed to provide students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship course with a practical platform to apply the theories and strategies learned during the semester. Traditionally held during the final teaching week, it has steadily evolved from a course-focused exercise into a campus-wide experience. Now officially managed by the Business Students Association, Entrepreneurship Day welcomes student-led businesses from across faculties, along with select external small businesses, reflecting its continued growth and relevance.
