Colloquium 2025 will be remembered as four days full of energy, inspiration, and joy for the USC Faculty and Staff. From August 20th to 23rd, the USC Auditorium came alive as faculty and staff gathered under the theme “Journey to 100: Excellence in Motion – From Grit to Growth.”
Planned with care by a committee led by Ms. Sadia Moore, the event captured the true spirit of USC, honouring where we’ve come from, celebrating who we are today, and looking ahead with hope as we approach our 100th year. But it was more than just a conference; it felt like a movement. It was about sparking new ideas, rekindling passion, and reminding us that together, we’re building something bigger than ourselves.
The first two days opened with a rich lineup of thought-provoking sessions and testimonies that stirred both reflection and determination. Alumni and members of the USC family shared powerful stories of resilience, faith, and transformation, living proof of the “Grit to Growth” journey. Attendees were not just listening; they were connecting, nodding, and finding fresh motivation to press forward in their own calling.
On Day 3, the atmosphere shifted to pure fun and creativity with USC’s first-ever Iron Chef Competition! Faculty and staff from across departments formed teams, rolled up their sleeves, and turned a mystery ingredient into culinary masterpieces. The friendly rivalry sparked laughter, cheering, and plenty of tasting, making this Fun Day a highlight of the entire colloquium. It wasn’t just about cooking; it was about building unity, teamwork, and unforgettable memories.
The final day, Colloquium Sabbath, brought the community together for a time of worship, reflection, and renewal. It was a fitting close, blending the Head, Heart, and Hand philosophy in service to God. As voices rose in praise and hearts were lifted in gratitude, the USC family was reminded of the true purpose behind its mission, glorifying God through excellence, service, and growth.
Colloquium 2025 was more than a four-day gathering, it was a spark that reignited purpose, joy, and unity among USC’s faculty and staff. With the centennial year fast approaching, this journey of “Excellence in Motion – From Grit to Growth” has set the tone for what promises to be a historic milestone.
As USC marches toward its 100th year, the lessons, laughter, and inspiration of Colloquium 2025 will continue to echo, reminding us all that grit shapes growth, and growth fuels greatness.
