The philosophy of education of the University of the Southern Caribbean is rooted in the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) philosophy of education, a worldview that emphasizes holistic development—spiritual, mental, physical, and social.
We believe God is the Creator, Sustainer, and ultimate source of truth. Education, then, is more than the acquisition of knowledge or vocational skills; it is a redemptive process, preparing individuals for service to God and humanity as servant.
At USC, we integrate fundamental biblical beliefs into all academic disciplines, fostering a holistic approach to education. Our mission is to produce servant leaders equipped with life skills and Christian attitudes. By intentionally integrating faith in teaching-learning, students connect their faith with every aspect of their lives. Students are educated not only for careers but for a life of service to others. “To educate is to redeem.”
