Health Symposium on "Advancing the Family Nurse Practitioner/DNP Experience and Practice"

The University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is pleased to announce that their Advanced Nurse Practitioner Project has now reached the stage of holding a Health Symposium next month to launch the start of enrollment of students for the first cohort, whose program will begin September 2020.

The Theme of the Health Symposium is titled’ “Re-envisioning the NCD Agenda in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean: Advancing the Family Nurse Practitioner/DNP Experience and Practice”.  Accordingly, this Health Symposium will serve to create awareness and prepare the groundwork for the launching and delivery of the FNP/DNP programme being offered by the JHU/USC collaboration. The focus of the symposium will, therefore, be on the ‘Role of the Nurse Practitioner in Primary Health Care’, ‘Diabetes and Co-Morbidities’, ‘Conducting the Interpersonal Violence Assessment’, and ‘Recognizing Anxiety and Depression across the Lifespan’

The Symposium Date:  The Symposium will be held on the 4th -5th December 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the University of the Southern Caribbean, Maracas. 

The Registration Fee for the Symposium is as follows:

  • Administrators, Managers and Doctors - US$ 100 (In groups of 3 - US$ 75 each)
  • Registered Nurses and General Public - TTS 350  (No group rate)
  • Students - TT$100 per Day.
