On Friday, February 19, another Biology Lab was opened in the School of Sciences and Technology with pleased, distinguished members of Administration in attendance. The opening ceremony included a ribbon cutting segment and prayers of dedication of the new facility.

The University of the Southern Caribbean hosted its third Mind of Christ Conference from 8 to 12 February, 2010. A brain child of USC President Dr. Trevor Gardner, the theme for this year’s conference was, “Mind of Christ: A Case for a Programme in Christian Psychology.”

The second semester of every school year is the semester of excitement. It’s characterized by friendly ‘wars’ between basket ball teams of the University in the La Coupe games. Organized by SPED, this year’s games were launched on Saturday the 28th of January, at 8 pm.

The Career Development Services department of the University of the Southern Caribbean hosted its second Annual Recruitment Symposium on February 10, 2010 to facilitate job placement and postgraduate opportunities for our graduating students.

The New Year has come with new additions to our faculty and staff here at USC. The ever growing administrative body of this institution is proportionate to its continuous advancement and increased student intake. It affirms the ongoing success of the University of the Southern Caribbean.

The University of the Southern Caribbean believes in offering friendly helpful service to its students. Thus it was no surprise when students met an information/ receptionist desk in the lobby of the Press Building. That is where visitors get a first impression of the University.

The University of the Southern Caribbean held its annual Lyceum Series, “Feast of Lights” on November 29, 2009. Under the directorship of Mr. Selwyn Noel and faculty and staff members of the Music Department, the concert featured performances that were in keeping with the season.

Once a year students of the University of the Southern Caribbean are given the opportunity to express themselves for a day through fashion. A day when style and fashion holds no boundaries and latest trends becomes obsolete. A day simply known by many as "Wacky Tacky"

In commencement of the Quality Assurance Week, the AccreditationCouncil of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) held its Interfaith Service at USC’s New Building Auditorium on November 1, 2009.

Twenty participants from the University of the Southern Caribbean left Trinidad on October 15 for the island of Antigua to complete a project: constructing a house for a single parent family of five, displaced for fourteen years.

With hype, enthusiasm and a co-operative spirit, students of territorial clubs came together to construct tents and booths, which served as miniature centres for cultural display during International Students' Week.

Campus Health Ministries continued its "Health Promotion Month - October 2009" with its Walkathon for the students of the University of the Southern Caribbean on October 11. USCians from all faculties and departments turned out in their colours and numbers to affirm their belief that health is indeed, wealth.

Every year Student Development along with students of USC embark on a country wide tour of Trinidad. This year 2009 was no different. The "Know Tour Country Tour" servers as a form of socialization among students and peers outside the class room, while at the same time providing knowledge to both national and international students. Allowing them to get to know and see Trinidad in ways they would have never imagine.
