Week of Prayer - April 2008

By: Dentrecia Blanchette

The University’s annual Week of Prayer was held 4th- 11th April, 2008. The speaker, Pastor Manzano, a Trinidadian born preacher, for the entire week, encouraged, stirred and inspired the hearts of many of the University’s staff and students, as he preached with much dynamism on the importance of having a deep rooted relationship with Christ.

The purpose of this spiritual component of the University’s culture is to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and a sturdy prayer life with Jesus.

The Week of Prayer is an annual event, in which hundreds of Uscians unite to pray for the school and its administration and adhere to the admonitions of the designated speaker for the week. Many students, solely because of this year's Week of Prayer, surrendered their lives to their Saviour.

Others simply recommitted themselves to the covenant they had made with Christ.

The University understands its commission, mission and responsibility to develop rounded students and staff through frequent spiritual grooming.

Week of Prayer 08 allowed the University to move once step closer to the completion of its spiritual responsibility.
