Heightened Latin America Presence at USC |
|
Fondly referred to as a “mini United Nations,” the USC family comprised of a potpourri of faculty, staff and students from over 42 countries worldwide, provides a stimulating multicultural environment where students discover new avenues of learning and experiences, aimed at preparing them to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.
Over the years USC has seen the many faces of the world, as students from far and wide traversed this institution in their educational quests. The 2009-2010 school year however, has seen the enrollment of more than 20 students from countries such as Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Peru.
This marks a significant growth in USC’s Language Institute and represents a good turnover of the institution’s endeavours to establish and foster longstanding ties with the Latin American community. Enrolled in the School of Humanities and registered for the English as a Second Language (ESL) program, our Latin American counterparts have brought with them their cultural diverseness which enhances the flavour of this melting pot know as USC.
