Director of Quality Assurance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishment and implementation of a strategic quality management system that supports the University’s goals and objectives
  • Coordinating the development, implementation and maintenance of the processes needed for a quality management system that ensures compliance with assessment criteria of the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago
  • Advising the President on procedures to implement and monitor recommendations for quality improvement throughout the University.
  • Reporting annually to the President’s Council, Administrative Council, and the University Board of Directors on the performance of the quality management system, and to prioritizing areas for improvement, using fact-based decision making.
  • Establishment and implementation of quality system audits
  • Testing, selection and implementation of the use of Quality Assurance Software products, and substantively improving quality in real time with automated Quality Control tools
  • Design, development and evaluation of Quality Assurance/Quality Inventory procedures
  • Advising and assisting units in carrying out self-assessment, and preparing Self-Assessment Report
  • Assisting each School and Department in developing a Quality Assurance document to complement the other Schools of the University; creating one comprehensive Quality Assurance institutional document
  • Creating a safe work environment critical to the institution’s personnel,  and protecting intellectual property

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of Master of Arts degree in the related field from an accredited institution is required.  
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience is required. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Personable, discreet, highly motivated, and customer oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Committed to high spiritual, moral and ethical standards of the University of the Southern Caribbean
