DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF SCIENCES & TECHNOLOGY

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A doctoral degree in Natural Science, or related field from an accredited institution
  • At least five (5) years of experience in administration at a tertiary institution
  • Knowledge in admission and registration procedures for colleges/universities, nationally and internationally
  • Experience in managing staff of ten or more persons
  • Must have a history of publication(s)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishing appropriate management in all departments
  • Recommending new programmes or programme changes
  • Recommending eligible persons to Vice President for Academic Administration to fill teaching needs in specialized areas
  • Recommending courses for transfer of credits
  • Attending to needs of both teachers and students
  • Participating in student development programmes

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Involvement in scholarly research
  • Visionary leadership in areas that include, but are not limited to research and curriculum development
  • Capable of working with Government and Non Governmental Organizations in the region and elsewhere
  • Personable, discreet, highly motivated, and customer oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to high spiritual, moral, and ethical standards of the University of the Southern Caribbean
