Chemistry Laboratory Technician

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for ensuring that the lab class is adequately supervised
  • Procure and set-up equipment, instruments and materials used in performing      scheduled tests or experiments as requested
  • Liaison with course instructors with respect to specified precautions for lab        exercises, lab manual alterations and upgrades, and instructions for students
  • Perform a variety of technical duties, which would include chemical preparations for experiments, maintenance and operation of basic laboratory equipment
  • Prepare roster for lab assistants work schedule and various lab sessions
  • Provide technical guidance, instruction and consultation to students as required

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have an A’ Level in Chemistry or its equivalent from an accredited institution.  A minimum of a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry is preferred. 
  • At least one (1) to three (3) years of experience is desired

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Personable, discreet, highly motivated, and customer oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Committed to high spiritual, moral and ethical standards of the University of the Southern Caribbean
