Associate Vice President, Academic Administration

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as Acting Vice President in the absence of the Vice President for Academic Administration.
  • Assists the Vice President for academic administration in accomplishing the goals of the University's central academic division
  • Supervises and assists Deans in the structuring of new programmes to fulfill the format for approval
  • Serves as the University's administrator with regard to academic space utilization
  • Manages the process of student evaluation of faculty and the University's  personnel development programmes
  • Provides leadership in the University's continued self-study process
  • Serves as the University personnel that relates and works closely with ACTT on programmes approvals, accreditation, and institutional academic advancement
  • Works closely with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education,  GATE Division, for the acquisition of GATE for newly approved programmes
  • Provides leadership and supervision of all satellite sites
  • Serves as a member on all academic committees

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Ph.D. in the related field from an accredited institution is required.  However, individuals who possess a Master of Arts degree will be considered.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Academic Administration will be an asset

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Personable, discreet, highly motivated, and customer oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Committed to high spiritual, moral and ethical standards of the University of the Southern Caribbean
