DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides supervision of data gathering and assessment responsibilities with the Research Assistant(s) assigned to the institutional research division.
- Supervision and responsibility for centralized external data reporting for the University – including but not limited to ACTT, MSTTE, ME, GATE and other national bodies whose functions would be relevant to institutional data.
- Collaborates with the Office of Admissions and Records and all data gathering sectors with custodial responsibilities to design, maintain and improve the University’s longitudinal data bases that are necessary for policy development, research planning, budgeting, continuous improvement, accountability and quality assurance measures.
- Assists with data needs for the production of University publications, including, but not limited to University Profile, Annual Statistical Fact Booklet, Veritas, and USC Research Journal.
- Provides analysis for University planning, budgeting, equal opportunity functions, programme review, accreditation, accountability and assessment processes
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE - A doctoral degree in the related field from an accredited institution is required. However, individuals who possess a minimum of a Master of Arts degree will be considered.
- Candidates without tertiary education experience may apply but should be able to demonstrate strength in transferring their experiences to tertiary education settings.
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience at the tertiary level in educational research will be an asset. A background in history, arts, historic presentation and anthropology would be advantageous
- Experience in the following would be beneficial:
- Strong skills in planning
- Working with large data bases
- Familiarity with student information systems
- Working with and leading teams
- Designing and implementing studies of varying complexity on institutional
policies and practices
OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Personable, discreet, highly motivated, and customer oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Committed to high spiritual, moral and ethical standards of the University of the Southern Caribbean.
