Office of Alumni Relations CUC President, Dr. Trevor Gardner, and Ms. Norma Greaves, Director of Alumni Relations participated in Toronto Chapter's CUC Alumni Day on June 4, 2005. "Fueling the Flame" was the theme for the day. Beulah and Lionel Alexander, Dr. Dorling Joseph (visiting from the USA), and the Beulah Land Singers were among the participants in the Sabbath School program. Lionel's spiritual lessons drawn from the coal pot and flambeau proved very interesting. The alumni responded as they waived their candles and sang the song "Light your candle". Dr. Gardner's sermon focused on God's love for His creations. He stressed that each person has a responsibility to truly love one another, and in keeping with the day's theme, presented Jesus as the fuel of the flame of love. The afternoon's program "Fanning the flame" was chaired by alumna, Leila /Riviere-Seale. Dr. Gardner presented the seven-year plan for CUC's advancement, and representatives from CUC's 2005 student colporteurs in Toronto attended and sought support for the students of Caribbean Union College. CUC alumni participated, expressed their thanks to their alma mater and pledged their continued support for CUC. Support was received for Student Scholarships. The day ended with fellowship and food, and the playing of games once enjoyed on the CUC slab. The night could not end without the popular traditional MARCH, CUC style.
