The following categories of students are required to take the proficiency examination. If they do not score75% or higher, they must take ENGL 110, Beginning Composition.

• Students who have a grade of II or III on the CXC;
• Students who have a cumulative grade average below B or its equivalent on the High School Diploma Level;
• Students who have taken the GED to meet entrance requirements.
